A Tasmena Social Design Competition

“Change Dubai” is the first initiative from TASMENA. We would like to invite you to think about our social responsibilities and how we can provide an action plan with our design ideas. We are looking for the development of an idea, design process and prototype in which UAE design students/designers can design to encourage social action in Dubai.

Think of a design idea that will promote a social cause in Dubai. This idea should contain an inspiration or message for the people to encourage them to rethink of their behavior as urban citizens and live in harmony with our environment acknowledging the sustainable living issues insurmountable. We would encourage fearless young designer to claim their rights to convey their messages to the public and be able to see the changes can be made by their creative ideas and executions. Our well-being comes from people, nature, society, present and future. We have the power and responsibility to ensure the well-being is not only for ourselves but for others and our environment.

At the end of the competition, we will present the winners of TASMENA’s inaugural competition at ICOGRADA Design World Congress 09 in Bejing and assist to submit your proposal to Adobe Foundation for Social Change. Although we are working on a very aggressive time-line and we are hoping that in the face of such challenges, Emirati designers can rise up to the occasion and show the world what they are capable of.

There are no limits to the idea you can design. However you must present your idea to the jury in 4 pages of A2 PDF.
